Smurfs Aquarium Cage Production Background and Production Overlay (1983) - ID: mar23493

A production background and cel overlay from the Hanna Barbera Studios animated series "The Smurfs" (1981-1989). Featuring what appears to be a Smurf cage inside of Gargamel's lair, the hand-painted background and overlay were created at the studio and used during the animation process. The piece is an actual frame of animation that was photographed and appears likely in an episode from 1983, based on the production numbers. Measuring 11"x14.25" overall, the piece is in very good condition with minor surface and edge wear due to age and handling.
